So where to for hear ? as its doesnt really respond to any keystokes or cards ? have i missed something else ??
    Welcome to minicom 2.7

    OPTIONS: I18n
    Compiled on Feb  7 2016, 13:37:27.
    Port /dev/tty8, 16:56:40

Press CTRL-A Z for help on special keys

  • It's almost certainly not on /dev/tty8 - you should run 'dmesg' after plugging in to see where it ended up, but if you've installed the udev rule then it will be on /dev/RFIDler

Make sure you've also switched off hardware handshaking.

Run minicom with the -o -s flags to get into setup mode.

  • so after a dmesg this is what i have,

    mrrobot@mrrobot-Compaq-610:~$ sudo dmesg | grep -e tty
    [sudo] password for mrrobot:
    [    0.000000] console [tty0] enabled
    [ 8252.609477] systemd[1]: Created slice system-getty.slice.
    [44968.987263] cdc_acm 5-1:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
    mrrobot@mrrobot-Compaq-610:~$

    and this too

    [44968.847130] usb 5-1: New USB device found, idVendor=1d50, idProduct=6098
    [44968.847142] usb 5-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
    [44968.847150] usb 5-1: Product: RFIDler-LF
[44968.847157] usb 5-1: Manufacturer: Aperture Labs Ltd.
    [44968.847164] usb 5-1: SerialNumber: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
    [44968.987263] cdc_acm 5-1:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device
[44968.991639] usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_acm

now just need to work out how to set up minicom with these numbers yeah ?

  • I had wrong minicom address, its all sorted now, ttyACM0 thanks though

    Thanks ADAM
  • So anyone new out there youll need to set up Minicom if your using Linux to connect you RFidler device to read write tags, if using windows you will need to configure Putty,

I know i had no idea what to do when i first got my device and just expected it to work after plugging it in but you need to set it all up first.

I hope to do a qiuck tutorial one day.
